I get to spend this Christmas with my family and for that, I’m grateful. I spent last Christmas roaming the empty streets of Manchester, talking to strangers and taking pictures. Well, not exactly. I took a meditative walk in the evening and encountered some strangers. One was a scary old man who wanted me to go with him to the museum but it was closed. He kept on asking for the time. I also met a shop owner who perhaps thought I was lonely and decided to keep me company. He told me about his nice Nigerian workers and described where his shop was. I promised to visit but I never did. It skipped my mind. Also, I never actually saw where he pointed.
I’m glad that I didn’t end up going to university this year. I would never have started this blog or written anything besides school essays. Also I would never have considered learning French or making my silly sketches. I guess life has a way of sorting things out.I plan to spend the holidays reading, writing and reading some more. And of course, practicing my French.
Thank you for reading The Ramblings of a Dropout. That makes me very happy and I hope you have a fun filled Christmas.
